Bob Saget
Bob Saget is best known for his portrayal of Danny Tanner, the modern-day
Donna Reed, on the hit family sitcom "Full House". Saget earned
another big paycheck for his job as host of the hit compilation series,
"America's Funniest Home Videos". His easy going manner, quick
wit and boyish charm has also made him a regular on awards shows and comedy
specials as both guest and host.
Saget began his show business career as a stand-up comedian working clubs
around the country and frequently guesting on "The Tonight Show with
Johnny Carson", "Late Night with David Letterman" and "The
Arsenio Hall Show". He hosted the 1989 one-hour special that launched
"America's Funniest Home Videos" and topped his own HBO comedy
special "Bob Saget--In the Dream State" as a man who experiences
a bizarre series of dreams.
Saget's film credits include his debut "Fool Moon High", an
engaging teen werewolf comedy from low budget genre master Larry Cohen,
and the ailing medical comedy "Critical Condition" which starred
Richard Pryor. He made his TV-movie debut starring in "Father and
Scout" (1994), which he also executive produced. In 1996, Saget directed
his first TV-movie, "For Hope" (ABC), loosely inspired by his
sister's struggle with scleroderma. Bob also appeared with Norm MacDonald
and Artie Lange in the 1998 film, "Dirty Work".
