Mal Z. Lawrence

Mal Z Lawrence, who had audiences gasping for breath when he starred in "Catskills On Broadway," returned in Leonard Bernsteins highly acclaimed revival of "Candide," where he was reunited with the great director Hal Prince. It was the second time Mal worked with the famed director. The first was at the Public Theatre in the production of a new play "The Petrified Prince." Mal also appeared Neil Simon's "Laughter On The Twenty Third Floor." Most recently Mal starred in the Off Broadway Hit "Straight Jacket” and at Town Hall in the successful production of "Borscht Belt Buffett," where he received rave reviews.
The legendary comedian made his screen debut in the comedy "Surprise.” Other films Mal can be seen in are "Rounders," starring Matt Damon, "Walk On The Moon," starring Diane Lane and "Isn’t She Great,” starring Bette Midler and Nathan Lane. Mal's TV appearances include The Tonight Show, Good Morning America, Comedy Central, Kathie Lee & Regis, The Jerry Lewis Telelthon and of course, his first TV break on The Ed Sullivan Show. He has recently released his first album appropriately titled, "Mal Z. Lawrence.”
Mal has sustained a career spanning more than 30 yrs entertaining audiences in Las Vegas, Atlantic City and, of course, the Catskill Mountains. Mal has worked with such performers as Wayne Newton, Ray Charles, Paul Anka, Dionne Warwick, Suzanne Somers and Tony Bennett just to name a few.
