StoneJoss Stone has sold over 7.5 million records worldwide, has been nominated for four Grammy Awards, appeared on stage with James Brown, the Rolling Stones, Stevie Wonder, Elton John, Patti LaBelle, and Smokey Robinson and mhas sat for an interview with Oprah Winfrey, starred in two major Gap ad campaigns, and performed for more then200,000 people at the 2005 Live 8 Concert in London, all before turning 19 years old. This soulful and powerful talent released her third album this year “Introducing Joss Stone,” which she says is the first of her albums that truly expresses her true musical vision. A lot of the new album focuses on Stone’s love for music, “It’s always there for me. It’s the love of my life. I’ve found it,” she says about her music. Joss Stone emerged on the music scene at the age of 16, and in 2003 she released her first album, “Soul Sessions” which was covers of obscure soul tracks. After hitting the road for a year, she returned to the studio to record her first original material album “Mind, Body, & Soul.” In 2005 she was nominated for three Grammy Awards including Best New Artist, and performed a memorable tribute to Janis Joplin with Melissa Etheridge at the awards ceremony. That year she also appeared on the cover of magazines from “Rolling Stone” to “Elle,” and appeared on every late-night and morning talk shows. In February of 2006 she appeared on the Super-Bowl XL pre-game show with Stevie Wonder and John Legend, and appeared with Legend again at the 2006 Grammy Awards. Legend and Stone’s cover of “Family Affair,” with Van Hunt appears on the Sly Stone tribute album “Different Strokes By Different Folks,” and has been nominated for this year’s “Best R&B Performance By A Duo or Group” Grammy Award.
