Tom Chapin

Anyone who has seen Tom Chapin perform knows what Billboard Magazine means when they say he is "one of those natural-born entertainers who, with nothing more than guitar in hand, can totally captivate." Tom's concerts span generations and stereotypes. He has recorded seven albums of adult-oriented material including Join The Jubilee (1996), his first live concert album. He is a contributor to National Public Radio's Morning Edition, creating and performing topical songs poking fun at social and scientific trends in the news.
Tom has gained widespread critical and popular acclaim for his recordings aimed at 4 to 11 year-olds and their families. His family albums have been recognized with awards from Parents' Choice, the New York Music Awards, the National Association of Parenting Publications and Parents Magazine. Around The World And Back Again (1996) received the Parents' Choice Award and wwe nominated for a Grammy Award. A collection of environmental songs titled This Pretty Planet (2000), also received a Grammy Nomination. Great Big Fun For The Very Little One (2001), received the 2002 Parents' Choice Gold Award. Tom's unique ability to touch audiences isn't limited to his music, however. He brought innovative and challenging television to a national audience as the host of ABC-TV's Peabody and Emmy Award winning children's show, Make a Wish, and later he hosted National Geographic's Explorer series on TBS. In addition, Tom works tirelessly on behalf of many charitable organizations and is on the Board of Directors of World Hunger Year, a hunger organization founded in 1975 by Tom's late brother, singer/songwriter/humanitarian Harry Chapin.
