BIOGRAPHy

Ari Staprans known professionally as Lauv, is an American singer, songwriter and record producer based in Los Angeles. His debut EP Lost in the Light was released in 2015 and his compilation album I Met You When I Was 18 (The Playlist) was released in 2018. He has written songs for other artists including the singles “Boys” by Charli XCX, “No Promises” by Cheat Codes and Demi Lovato and “Imperfections” by Celine Dion. His debut studio album How I’m Feeling was released on March 6, 2020 and debuted at number 16 on the US Billboard 200. He made a second collaboration wit BTS for the song “Who” which hit highest on the iTunes chart.  In July 2021, American DJ DallasK released the single “Try Again”, featuring Lauv. Lauv announced his second studio album is “done”, with the first single titled “26” due for release on January 28.

Career Path

2015Launched his career under the Lauv alias with the debut EP 'Lost in the Light', establishing his loop-based bedroom-pop production style from Los Angeles.
2017Co-wrote Charli XCX's single 'Boys' and Cheat Codes and Demi Lovato's 'No Promises' while releasing his own breakout single 'I Like Me Better', which accumulated billions of streams worldwide.
2018Released the compilation album 'I Met You When I Was 18. (The Playlist)' on Epic Records, consolidating the fan-favorite tracks that built his streaming audience, and penned 'Imperfections' for Celine Dion.
2019Founded the Blue Boy Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to destigmatizing mental health conversations among young people, after going public with his own diagnosis of clinical depression and OCD.
2020Released debut studio album 'How I'm Feeling' debuting at number 16 on the US Billboard 200, featuring the BTS collaboration 'Who' with Jungkook and Jimin.
2022Delivered sophomore album 'All 4 Nothing' via Virgin Music Label & Artist Services, supported by four singles including 'Kids Are Born Stars', then hit the road for a North American headline tour with Hayley Kiyoko opening.
2023'Steal the Show', co-written with composer Thomas Newman and Michael Matosic for Pixar's 'Elemental', reached audiences worldwide as the film's original song and end-credits centerpiece.
2025Scored a transatlantic dance hit with 'Mad', a collaboration with DJ Martin Garrix, marking a new sonic direction after years of introspective indie-pop.
2026Co-headlined the 25-city 'It's Always Summer Somewhere Tour' across North America with Khalid, opening in Las Vegas and closing at the Greek Theatre in Berkeley.
