Melissa Villasenor

Stand-up comedian, impressionist and actress Melissa Villasenor is best known for recent work on Saturday Night Live, having joined in the 42nd season in 2016. Her other credits include voice work on several episodes of OK K.O.! Let’s Be Heroes and Adventure Time. She was also a contestant on the sixth season of America’s Got Talent. Melissa’s debut on SNL was an impression of Sarah Silverman in the Family Feud: Political Edition sketch. Villaseñor is the second Latina cast member and the first Latina to be promoted to repertory status.[ She was promoted to the cast of repertory players in season 44.

Career Path

2011Reached the semi-finals of 'America's Got Talent' Season 6 as an impressionist, drawing national attention before her SNL career began.
2016Joined 'Saturday Night Live' for its 42nd season as the first-ever Latina cast member, debuting with a Sarah Silverman impression in the 'Family Feud: Political Edition' sketch.
2018Promoted to repertory player status in Season 44, the first Latina to reach that rank, while adding voice work on 'OK K.O.! Let's Be Heroes' and 'Adventure Time'.
2019Voiced Karen Beverly in Pixar's 'Toy Story 4', expanding her animation credits alongside her recurring SNL presence.
2021Hosted the 36th Independent Spirit Awards, stepping into a solo emcee role that showcased her range beyond character impressions.
2022Departed SNL after six seasons to focus on live performance, publishing 'Whoops... I'm Awesome' via Chronicle Books, a workbook blending original art, personal essays, and her self-described journey through self-doubt.
2024Toured stand-up dates nationally, bringing her impressions-heavy set, spanning Billie Eilish, Dolly Parton, Lady Gaga, and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, to comedy clubs including Comedy Works Denver.
2026Performing dates on her ongoing comedy tour, with shows scheduled at venues including Lewis Family Playhouse in Rancho Cucamonga.
