Barry Gibb

BIOGRAPHy

Barry Gibb is one of music’s living legends. In 1958, his family moved to Brisbane, Australia, where he and his brothers, twins Robin and Maurice, formed the Bee Gees, who would become one of the most successful pop groups of all time. During their five decade career, they have sold more than 110 million albums. As a songwriter, he had five of his songs in the US top 10 at the same time in 1978. Barry has produced 16 number one hits for the Bee Gees and other artists, including Barbra Streisand (“Woman in Love”), Frankie Valli (“Grease”), Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton (“Islands in the Stream”), and Diana Ross (“Chain Reaction”). In 1984, he released his first solo album, “Now Voyager.” In 1994, Gibb was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame. Three years later, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. In 2012, Gibb performed his first solo concert in the US at the Seminole Hard Rock Cafe in Florida. He sang “How Can You Mend a Broken Heart” with Maurice’s daughter, Samantha Gibb, who is a singer in her own band. In May 2012, Robin Gibb died, making Barry the sole surviving Gibb brother. Gibb commenced a world tour in 2013, starting in Australia. He was joined on stage by his son, Steve, and Maurice’s daughter, Samantha. He released In the Now in 2016. Gibb continues to tour the globe.
