BIOGRAPHy

When John Rich met Big Kenny in 1998, both had been through the record industry wringer. Rich had been in the country band Lonestar before launching a brief solo career. Big Kenny didn’t become a full-time musician until he was in his 30s, but a big record deal and the ensuing album went nowhere, so he launched a wild outfit called luvjoi. Introduced by friends, John and Kenny liked the first song they wrote and loved the second, “I Pray for You.” They weren’t ready to record together quite yet, so the song became John’s first single as a solo artist. John and Big Kenny kept jamming at each other’s shows and eventually, Big & Rich signed to Warner Bros. Nashville. Since, they’ve released five studio albums, the last being Gravity in 2014. Big and Rich are huge. See this duo!

Career Path

1998John Rich and Big Kenny met and co-wrote 'I Pray for You,' with Rich recording it as his debut solo single before the two officially joined forces.
2004Debut album 'Horse of a Different Color' on Warner Bros. Nashville produced 'Save a Horse (Ride a Cowboy),' which went platinum as a single and earned the duo their first gold record.
2005Follow-up album 'Comin' to Your City' extended their run of outlaw-country anthems and supported a headlining national tour.
2007'Lost in This Moment,' the lead single from 'Between Raising Hell and Amazing Grace,' became the duo's first Billboard Hot Country Songs number-one hit, earning praise from the Nashville Songwriters Association as a defining modern wedding song.
2012'Hillbilly Jedi' marked their return after a five-year studio gap, featuring co-writes with Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora and George Lucas's personal permission to use the trademarked word 'Jedi' in the title.
2014Released 'Gravity' on their own Big & Rich Records imprint, completing five studio albums and demonstrating long-term independence from major-label infrastructure.
2017Released 'Did It for the Party,' continuing to deliver the rowdy, genre-blending sound that built their devoted fanbase.
2022Kept a busy performance calendar with 16 documented shows, maintaining their status as a reliable draw on the country festival and amphitheater circuit.
2024Appeared at the Rock the Country festival in Fort Loramie, Ohio alongside Lainey Wilson, Dustin Lynch, Craig Morgan, and Anne Wilson.
2025Continued active touring, including a documented performance in Tampa with DJ Sinister, sustaining two decades of 'Save a Horse (Ride a Cowboy)' crowd-sing-alongs at live shows.
