BIOGRAPHy

Hailing from Chicago, Craig Robinson played Darryl Philbin on the American version of The Office. He was promoted to a starring role in the fourth season. Robinson’s film work includes roles in Knocked Up, Pineapple Express, Fanboys, Daddy’s Little Girls, Zack and Miri Make a Porno, Miss March and both Hot Tub Time Machines. He has appeared in the television series Arrested Development, Friends, Halfway Home and Reno 911!. Robinson also served as host of NBC’s Last Comic Standing (2010). For a number of years, Robinson and comedian Jerry Minor had a comedy act where they performed as musical duo “L. Witherspoon & Chucky” with Minor as smooth singing “L. Witherspoon” and Robinson as “Chucky,” the keyboard player and back-up singer. They had performed the act on several stand-up shows on Comedy Central, as well as on Real Time with Bill Maher and Jimmy Kimmel Live. More recent credits include Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Key & Peele and Comedy Bang! Bang! Craig Robinson turns everything he does into hilarity. Good times!

Career Path

2005Joined the cast of NBC's 'The Office' as Darryl Philbin, a warehouse foreman whose understated delivery became one of the show's most beloved running elements.
2007Appeared in Judd Apatow's 'Knocked Up' alongside Seth Rogen, beginning a string of high-profile film collaborations that moved him from supporting player to recognizable screen presence.
2008Co-starred with Seth Rogen and James Franco in 'Pineapple Express', the action-comedy that expanded his film profile while he was still a series regular on 'The Office'.
2010Starred in 'Hot Tub Time Machine' and hosted NBC's 'Last Comic Standing', showing range across blockbuster studio comedy and live competition television in the same year.
2013Played a fictionalized version of himself in the meta-comedy 'This Is the End' alongside James Franco, Jonah Hill, and Seth Rogen.
2015Led the NBC sitcom 'Mr. Robinson', a show built around his persona as a musician-teacher navigating life in a Chicago school.
2022Headlined Peacock's 'Killing It', an absurdist Florida comedy in which he plays a divorced father-turned-python hunter; the show was renewed for a second season on the strength of its debut.
2022Voiced Mr. Shark in DreamWorks Animation's 'The Bad Guys', released by Universal Pictures.
2023Returned for 'Killing It' Season 2 on Peacock, which added guest stars Dot-Marie Jones and Kyle Mooney to his crew of Florida hustlers.
2025Toured extensively as Craig Robinson and the Nasty Delicious, the nine-piece fusion band he has fronted since 2007, blending Chicago-house, funk, and hip-hop with stand-up and crowd improvisation.
