BIOGRAPHy

One of the most commercially successful rock groups of all time, Fleetwood Mac was formed in London in 1967 by Mick Fleetwood (drums), John McVie (bass), Jeremy Spencer (guitar) and Peter Green (guitar). In 1975, the group brought in the soft rock duo Lindsey Buckingham (guitar) and Stevie Nicks (vocals), creating the band’s classic lineup and shifting the band’s sound towards pop. The new lineup made its debut on an eponymous 1975 album, reaching number one on the strength of the Top 20 singles “Rhiannon,” “Over My Head,” and “Say You Love Me,” eventually selling over five million copies. Following some solo albums and side-projects, Fleetwood Mac reunited to record four new songs for The Chain, a 1992 box set to commemorate the group’s 25th anniversary. In 2003, the band released Say You Will. To date, Fleetwood Mac has sold over 100 million albums, making them one of the most popular bands in rock history. Fleetwood Mac continues to tour the world.

1968Release their self-titled debut album 'Fleetwood Mac'.
1968Achieve a UK number one single with the instrumental 'Albatross'.
1974Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham join the band.
1975Release their second self-titled album, 'Fleetwood Mac,' which reaches number one in the US.
1977Release the album 'Rumours,' which becomes one of the best-selling albums of all time.
1987Release the album 'Tango in the Night,' their last studio album with the classic lineup before a hiatus.
1993The classic 'Rumours' lineup reunites to perform at President Bill Clinton's inauguration.
1998Fleetwood Mac is inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
2018The 'An Evening with Fleetwood Mac' tour begins, featuring a new lineup with Mike Campbell and Neil Finn.
