Foo Fighters

Formed in 1995 by former Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl, Foo Fighters have grown into one of the most enduring and decorated alternative rock bands in modern music history. Heading into 2026, the legendary group features core members Grohl, bassist Nate Mendel, guitarists Pat Smear and Chris Shiflett, keyboardist Rami Jaffee, and powerhouse drummer Ilan Rubin. Having earned 15 Grammy Awards and cemented their status as Rock and Roll Hall of Famers, the band continues to redefine their legacy with relentless energy and stadium-filling anthems. Following years of profound resilience and triumphant live performances, 2026 marks an exciting new chapter highlighted by the release of their twelfth studio album, Your Favorite Toy, in April, alongside fresh melodic statements like the single “Asking for a Friend”. Never slowing down their momentum on the road, the group launched their major North American Take Cover Tour, hitting massive venues alongside special guests like Queens of the Stone Age. Blending raw post-grunge grit with timeless arena-rock appeal, Foo Fighters remain a vital, ever-evolving force, proving that after three decades, their communal bond with fans and passion for live music burns brighter than ever. Career Path

1995Dave Grohl recorded the self-titled debut album nearly solo after Kurt Cobain's death, playing most instruments himself before recruiting Nate Mendel, William Goldsmith, and former Nirvana guitarist Pat Smear to tour.
1997"The Colour and the Shape" produced "Everlong" and "My Hero," establishing the band's arena-rock identity and earning Taylor Hawkins his permanent seat behind the drum kit.
2002"One by One" became the band's fourth consecutive platinum-selling record on the strength of "All My Life" and "Times Like These."
2007"Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace" earned five Grammy nominations, including Album of the Year, the band's most recognized critical moment to that point.
2011"Wasting Light," produced with Butch Vig at Grohl's home studio on analog tape, reunited Pat Smear with the lineup and debuted at No. 1 in multiple countries.
2021"Medicine at Midnight" became the band's tenth studio album, later marking the last recording featuring drummer Taylor Hawkins before his death.
2022Organized two sold-out Taylor Hawkins Tribute Concerts, one at Wembley Stadium in London and one at Kia Forum in Los Angeles, featuring performances by Paul McCartney, Travis Barker, and dozens of rock luminaries.
2023"But Here We Are," the eleventh album, processed Hawkins' death and the loss of Grohl's mother Virginia through songs including "Rescued," which became the band's 12th No. 1 on Billboard's Main Rock Chart; the album earned a Grammy nomination for Best Rock Album.
2025Ilan Rubin, formerly of Nine Inch Nails, joined as permanent drummer, debuting with the band at the Fremont Theater in San Luis Obispo.
2026"Your Favorite Toy," the twelfth studio album and first with Rubin, arrived on Roswell/RCA Records alongside the lead single "Asking for a Friend" and a stadium tour kicking off at Rogers Stadium in Toronto.
