Formed in Jacksonville, Florida, in 1997, Yellowcard is an American alternative rock band famous for integrating the violin into the pop-punk genre. The core lineup consists of lead vocalist/rhythm guitarist Ryan Key, violinist Sean Mackin, lead guitarist Ryan Mendez, and bassist Josh Portman. The group achieved global prominence with their 2003 major-label debut, Ocean Avenue, which was certified platinum and spawned iconic hits like the title track and “Only One”. After releasing several successful studio albums, Yellowcard parted ways and disbanded following a farewell tour in 2016. However, the band made a celebrated return by reuniting in 2022. Since t hen, they have resumed extensive touring and recorded new material, including the 2023 EP Childhood Eyes and the studio albums A Hopeful Sign (a collaboration with Hammock) in 2024, and Better Days in 2025. Today, they remain active celebrating their legacy while writing new music.
