Journey

Journey is one of the most popular American rock bands of all time, creating some of the best-known songs in modern music. They have continued to tour and record into the 21st century and have never stopped creating vital music. Since the group’s formation in 1973, the band has earned 19 Top 40 singles and 25 gold and platinum albums. The band’s Greatest Hits album is certified 15 times platinum, bringing Journey into the elite club of Diamond-certified album holders. Journey unleashed Eclipse in 2011, featuring the line-up of Neal Schon (guitars, backing vocals), Jonathan Cain (keyboards, backing vocals), Ross Valory (bass, backing vocals), Deen Castronovo (drums, percussion, backing vocals) and Arnel Pineda (lead vocals). Yes, the journey continues for Journey, and they continue to rock venues all over the world.

Career Path

1975Issued the self-titled debut album 'Journey' on Columbia Records, establishing the San Francisco-formed band's foothold in the American rock landscape.
1978'Infinity' and its breakout single 'Wheel in the Sky' signaled Journey's commercial arrival, launching a streak of Top 40 singles that would eventually reach 19.
1981'Escape' produced the band's signature anthem 'Don't Stop Believin'' alongside 'Open Arms,' cementing Journey's status as one of arena rock's defining acts.
1983'Frontiers' added 'Separate Ways (Worlds Apart)' and 'Faithfully' to their catalog, pushing the band's total gold and platinum albums toward the 25-album milestone cited in their biography.
2007Discovered lead vocalist Arnel Pineda through YouTube videos of him performing Journey songs, recruiting him as the band's new frontman and extending their touring life into a second generation.
2011Released 'Eclipse' featuring the Arnel Pineda-led lineup of Neal Schon, Jonathan Cain, Ross Valory, and Deen Castronovo, proving the band's creative continuity a decade into the 21st century.
2017Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, with original vocalist Steve Perry joining current members onstage for the ceremony.
2022Released 'Freedom,' their first studio album of new material in 11 years, supported by a North American tour co-billed as Rock and Roll Hall of Fame legends.
2023Launched the 50th Anniversary Freedom Tour 2023 with TOTO as special guest, playing 38 North American arenas from Allentown, PA on February 4 through Palm Springs, CA on April 25.
2024Extended the 50th Anniversary Freedom Tour into a second year, headlining 30 arenas across the United States and Canada with TOTO before adding a UK and Ireland leg that opened at Cardiff Utilita Arena on October 30 and closed at The O2 in London on November 17.
