Russell Peters

Renowned for his quick wit and piercing mimicry, Russell Peters has mastered the art of traversing between hilarious characters of all races and cultures, creating an immediate connection with audiences. His performances have established him as an artist with legit international acclaim. Peters has been nominated for four of Canada’s prestigious Gemini Awards. He has been a featured comic at Montreal’s Just For Laughs Comedy Festival, the Winnipeg Comedy Festival, and the Edinburgh Comedy Festival. His television appearances include CBC-TV’s Comics!, Club Class on Channel 5 (UK) and two one-hour Comedy Now! specials on Canada’s Comedy Network. Career Path

2000Featured at Montreal's Just For Laughs Comedy Festival, the Edinburgh Comedy Festival, and the Winnipeg Comedy Festival in the same period, cementing his reputation as one of the most-booked international stand-ups on the circuit.
2006Released the stand-up album 'Outsourced', which spread virally online and introduced his arena-ready blend of cross-cultural mimicry to audiences who had never seen him live.
2008Won the Gemini Award for Best Performance or Host in a Variety Program after hosting the Juno Awards in Calgary, becoming the first South Asian comedian to win the honour.
2009Released the stand-up album 'Red, White and Brown', expanding the audience that had already made him one of the top-grossing live comedians in Canada.
2013'Notorious' became the first original stand-up special on Netflix, taped before more than 14,000 fans in Sydney and part of a world tour that sold over 300,000 tickets, including sold-out nights at Madison Square Garden.
2016Executive-produced 'Hip-Hop Evolution' for Netflix, which won both the Peabody Award and the International Emmy Award for Best Arts Programming.
2022Headlined the RELAX World Tour, performing in arenas across North America and the Middle East and drawing on the multicultural material that has made him a perennial sell-out in more than 23 countries.
2024Released 'Act Your Age, Live in Abu Dhabi', his tenth stand-up special, premiering exclusively on Patreon before a sold-out crowd at the Etihad Arena after a world tour seen by over 300,000 fans.
2025Headlined Saudi Arabia's Riyadh Comedy Festival, adding one of the region's largest comedy platforms to a touring résumé that already spans six continents.
