Seth Meyers

Every week night, he’s in your home! Seth Meyers was the head writer and anchor of Saturday Night Live’s “Weekend Update.” In addition to that and contributing to numerous sketches, Meyers appears in the recurring “Jarret’s Room” sketch as DJ Jonathan Feinstein as well as co-hosting the Irish talk show “Top O’ The Morning” as William Fitzpatrick, opposite Jimmy Fallon’s Patrick Fitzwilliam. He has also contributed notable impressions of Hugh Grant, Russell Crowe, Tobey Maguire, Democratic Presidential candidate John Kerry and NBC News’ Stone Phillips and Brian Williams. Meyers comes to SNL from the improv-sketch comedy group Boom Chicago Theater. He also performed with Chicago’s ImprovOlympic where many SNL cast members and writers got their start, including current cast members Rachel Dratch and Tina Fey. Meyers also hosted the 2010 and 2011 ESPY Awards on ESPN. In 2011, Seth Meyers was the keynote speaker at the prestigious White House Correspondents Association Dinner appearing with President Obama himself. Now, Seth hosts the hit show Late Night with Seth Meyers on NBC. Needless to say, Seth Meyers is the real deal.

Career Path

2001Joined the cast of NBC's 'Saturday Night Live' after honing his craft at Chicago's ImprovOlympic and with the improv-sketch group Boom Chicago Theater in Amsterdam.
2006Took over as sole anchor of 'Weekend Update' on 'Saturday Night Live,' having co-anchored the desk with Amy Poehler since 2006, and served as the show's head writer.
2010Hosted the ESPY Awards on ESPN, then returned to host a second consecutive year in 2011, broadening his profile beyond sketch comedy into sports entertainment.
2011Delivered the keynote address at the White House Correspondents' Association Dinner alongside President Barack Obama, memorably roasting Donald Trump to national attention.
2014Launched 'Late Night with Seth Meyers' on NBC, bringing his 'Weekend Update' sharpness to a nightly format with signature segments 'A Closer Look' and 'Corrections.'
2021Renewed his 'Late Night' contract with NBC through 2025, then welcomed back a live studio audience after COVID-19 disruptions.
2023Co-hosted the podcast 'Strike Force Five' with Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel, Stephen Colbert, and John Oliver to support writers' room staff during the WGA strike, while simultaneously launching 'Family Trips with the Meyers Brothers' with sibling Josh Meyers.
2024Secured a new NBC contract extension through 2028, with his production company Sethmaker Shoemeyers expanding to produce content across NBCUniversal platforms.
2024'Corrections,' his popular online short-form segment, earned its fourth Emmy nomination for Outstanding Short Form Comedy, Drama or Variety Series.
