BIOGRAPHy

Squeaky-voiced comedienne Victoria Jackson is perhaps best known for being a cast member of the NBC’s Saturday Night Live from 1986 to 1992, but she also makes film appearances. Jackson made her film debut in Stoogemania. Following college, Jackson did summer stock theater in California. From there, Jackson went to Hollywood, working odd jobs while launching her career as a stand-up comic. Jackson’s big break came from an appearance on The Tonight Show in which she recited poetry while doing a handstand. The funny lady went on to appear a total of 22 times on the enduring nighttime talk show. Following her long stint on SNL, Jackson married her old high school flame and returned to Florida to raise a family. Since then her film and television appearances, on shows such as The Naked Truth, have been sporadic, though Jackson did find time to record a children’s album, Ukulele Lady. Fortunately, Victoria Jackson continues to perform stand-up around the country. Funny lady!

Career Path

1983Landed a breakout appearance on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson, reciting poetry while performing a handstand, which led to 22 total appearances on the program.
1986Joined the cast of NBC's Saturday Night Live, where her squeaky voice and handstand poetry became signature recurring bits over six seasons.
1988Made her feature film debut in 'Stoogemania,' expanding her screen presence beyond the SNL stage during her tenure on the show.
1992Departed SNL after six seasons, returned to Florida, married her high school sweetheart, and began raising a family while keeping a hand in television and film.
1995Recorded 'Ukulele Lady,' a children's album that showcased a musical side distinct from her SNL persona and became a calling card for family-oriented bookings.
2000Made sporadic television appearances on shows including 'The Naked Truth,' keeping her profile active in Hollywood while based in Florida.
2012Published her autobiography 'Is My Bow Too Big?,' reflecting on her SNL years, faith journey, and life after television.
2024Revealed a diagnosis of stage 4 inoperable metastatic breast cancer and began treatment, continuing to perform stand-up and share original ukulele songs publicly through the illness.
2026Released 'Not Dead Yet: A Lifetime of Handstands, Art & Poetry,' a memoir-and-art collection featuring handstand photographs from ages 5 to 65 and original poetry spanning her entire career.
