Shooter Jennings

BIOGRAPHy

The only child of Waylon Jennings and Jessi Colter, Shooter Jennings lived his first few years in a crib on his parents’ tour bus. At 16, he discovered rock ‘n’ roll. Jennings left Nashville a couple of years later to seek his fortunes in LA. There, he assembled a band, Stargunn. They tore up the local clubs, built a rabid following and earned praise from the local music press. In 2003, he dissolved Stargunn and moved to New York City. He completed his first solo album, Put the O Back in Country, which was released in 2005. Jennings portrayed his father in the 2005 Johnny Cash biopic, Walk the Line. In 2006, he issued the studio album, Electric Rodeo, as well as Live From Irving Plaza. “Electric Rodeo” peaked at #12 on the Country Albums chart. The studio album, The Wolf, was issued in 2007. It again peaked at #12 on the Country Albums chart. Two singles were released from The Wolf, a cover of Dire Straits’ “Walk of Life” and “This Ol’ Wheel.” Black Ribbons, a concept album, was released in 2010 and gained much critical acclaim, as well as a brand new following. In 2011, Jennings formed the band The Triple Crown in New York City and recorded his fifth album, Family Man, released in 2012. More recently, he released the album Countach (For Giorgio) in 2016. Shooter Jennings continues to tour the country.
