BIOGRAPHy

Vitamin String Quartet ingeniously transforms today’s most popular songs and styles with the beauty and intensity of classical string instrumentation. A must-listen for classical and pop audiences alike, VSQ’s diverse catalog brings the world of contemporary music to fascinating new life. Comprised of a rotating collective of top-flight Los Angeles musicians, Vitamin String Quartet puts a classical spin on many popular genres of pop, punk, and metal, and is widely known for its tributes to cutting-edge rock acts. Their music has been heard in film and on television, most notably on the finale of So You Think You Can Dance. Meanwhile bands like Mastodon and Coheed & Cambria have been known to play VSQ recordings at live shows. In 2009, they released Per-Versions, an album featuring interpretations of songs by revered alternative artists, including Cat Power, Sigur Ros, Tom Waits, No Age, and Animal Collective, as well as several original songs. VSQ tours and draws big crowds on the road.
