Trevor Noah is the host of the Emmy and Peabody Award-winning “The Daily Show with Trevor Noah” on Comedy Central. Noah joined “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart” in 2014 as a contributor. Born in South Africa, Noah has hosted numerous television shows including South Africa’s music, television and film awards, the South African Comedy Festival and two seasons of his own late night talk show, “Tonight with Trevor Noah.” He made his U.S. television debut in 2012 on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” and has also appeared on “Late Show with David Letterman.” Noah was the subject of David Paul Meyer’s award-winning documentary film “You Laugh But It’s True,” which tells the story of his remarkable career in post-apartheid South Africa. His Showtime comedy special, “Trevor Noah: African American,” premiered in 2013. His autobiographical comedy book Born a Crime was published in 2016.  He hosted the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards in 2021 and the 64th Annual Grammy Awards edition in 2022. When he’s not on television, Trevor Noah tours all over the world.

Career Path

2007Hosted 'The Real Goboza' on SABC 1 and the sports show 'Siyadlala' on the same network, becoming one of South Africa's most visible young television personalities.
2009Hosted the 3rd Annual South Africa Film and Television Awards (SAFTAs) and launched two seasons of his own late-night talk show 'Tonight with Trevor Noah.'
2012Made his US television debut on 'The Tonight Show with Jay Leno' on NBC, followed by an appearance on 'Late Show with David Letterman,' opening American audiences to his South African perspective.
2013Premiered the Showtime special 'Trevor Noah: African American,' his first US stand-up special, which also served as the subject of David Paul Meyer's award-winning documentary 'You Laugh But It's True.'
2015Took over as host of the Emmy and Peabody Award-winning 'The Daily Show' on Comedy Central, succeeding Jon Stewart after joining as a contributor the previous year.
2016Published 'Born a Crime,' his autobiographical comedy book recounting his childhood in post-apartheid South Africa, which became a bestseller.
2021Hosted the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards, beginning a consecutive Grammy hosting run that would extend through 2026, six times total, making him the longest-running host in the ceremony's modern era.
2022Hosted his final episode of 'The Daily Show' after a seven-year run, signing off with farewell messages from Oprah, Kamala Harris, and a packed studio audience before pivoting full-time to stand-up.
2023Launched the 28-city 'Off the Record' North American stand-up tour, selling out the Hollywood Bowl, running 10 consecutive shows at the Beacon Theatre, and setting a Berlin record for most tickets sold by a non-German comedian.
2023Released the Netflix special 'Where Was I,' filmed at the Fox Theatre in Detroit, which earned two Emmy nominations for Outstanding Variety Special and Outstanding Directing, plus Golden Globe, Critics Choice, and Grammy nominations for Best Comedy Album.
