BIOGRAPHy

Grace VanderWaal began her musical career by posting videos of her original songs and covers on YouTube and performing at open mic nights near her hometown of Suffern, New York. In September 2016, at 12, she won the eleventh season of the NBC TV competition show America’s Got Talent, singing her originals. In December 2016, she released her first EP, Perfectly Imperfect, on Columbia Records. She has performed at the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Madison Square Garden, the opening and closing of the 2017 Special Olympics World Winter Games in Austria, various benefit concerts, the Austin City Limits Music Festival and on several television talk shows. She won the 2017 Radio Disney Music Award for Best New Artist and a Teen Choice Award, has twice been named to Billboard magazine’s 21 Under 21 list of fast-rising young music stars, and received the 2017 Billboard Women in Music Rising Star Award. In November 2017, VanderWaal released a full-length album, Just the Beginning, followed by her first concert tour. She is touring in mid-2018 with Imagine Dragons in their Evolve World Tour. Alas, she is set to star in Disney’s upcoming film Stargirl. It is just the beginning for Grace VanderWaal, but she will be a spectacular, unforgettable closing act for your event.

Career Path

2016Won the eleventh season of NBC's 'America's Got Talent' at age 12, performing original compositions and drawing comparisons to Taylor Swift from the show's judges.
2016Signed to Columbia Records and released the debut EP 'Perfectly Imperfect', including the breakout original 'I Don't Know My Name' which she had written herself.
2017Won the Billboard Women in Music Rising Star Award, a Radio Disney Music Award for Best New Artist, and a Teen Choice Award, while also performing at the opening and closing ceremonies of the Special Olympics World Winter Games in Austria.
2017Released the full-length debut 'Just the Beginning' on Columbia Records, then headlined her first concert tour before opening for Imagine Dragons on their Evolve World Tour.
2019Released the EP 'LETTERS: VOL. 1', signaling a darker, more experimental direction and establishing an artistic identity separate from her 'America's Got Talent' origins.
2020Starred as the title character Susan 'Stargirl' Caraway in Disney+'s original film 'Stargirl', her acting debut on a major streaming platform.
2022Reprised the Stargirl role in the Disney+ sequel 'Hollywood Stargirl', deepening her profile as a dual-threat performer across music and screen.
2024Appeared in Francis Ford Coppola's epic 'Megalopolis', playing the role of Vesta Sweetwater and contributing two original songs to the film's score, with the project premiering at the Cannes Film Festival.
2025Released the sophomore album 'Childstar' on her own terms, a nine-track personal reckoning with growing up in the spotlight, accompanied by a choreographed short film on YouTube and a headline 'Childstar On Tour' run.
