BIOGRAPHy

Country music group Doc Walker is from Portage la Prairie, Manitoba, Canada. They have won Canadian Country Music Awards and had radio hits with such songs as “I Am Ready” and “The Show is Free” from the 2003 album Everyone Aboard. In 2001, they released the album Curve. Both albums were for Universal Music Group. With over 20 Top 10 singles, Doc Walker is one of the most recognized Canadian country acts of the past two decades. In addition to receiving multiple Canadian Country Music Awards, Doc Walker has been nominated for several JUNO Awards, including a win in 2009 for the album Beautiful Life. More recently, they dropped Weathervane in 2017. Doc Walker continues to impress audiences with its hits and live performances.

 

Career Path

1997Formed in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba, releasing debut album 'Good Day to Ride' and planting the roots of what would become one of Canada's most recognized country acts.
2001Released 'Curve' on Universal Music Group, launching a string of radio hits and CCMA nominations that established the duo nationally.
2003'Everyone Aboard' on Universal Music Group produced the hits 'I Am Ready' and 'The Show Is Free,' putting Doc Walker in contention for Group of the Year at the CCMA Awards.
2006Self-titled album 'Doc Walker' extended a run of over 20 Top 10 Canadian country radio singles, a benchmark few Canadian country acts have matched.
2008Released 'Beautiful Life,' winning the JUNO Award for Country Recording of the Year in 2009 and cementing Doc Walker's status as a CCMA multi-winner.
2011Released '16&1,' marking over 16 Top 10 singles and reinforcing the duo's place atop Canadian country radio alongside a string of CCMA Award wins including Group or Duo of the Year.
2014Delivered 'The 8th' studio album, demonstrating the songwriting durability behind a catalogue that spans more than 14 Canadian Country Music Association Awards.
2017Dropped 'Weathervane,' adding new material to a back catalogue that stretches over two decades of chart presence on Canadian country radio.
2021Released the single 'She Hasn't Always Been This Way,' marking the duo's return to new recordings following the pandemic performance shutdown.
2023Headlined 'The Great Canadian Roadtrip' national tour alongside Jason McCoy and Michelle Wright, performing across Ontario and western Canada in a co-bill celebrating three generations of Canadian country music.
