BIOGRAPHy

Adam Ferrara, actor and stand-up comedian who Entertainment Weekly dubbed “Hilarious,” recently starred on Showtime’s hit series Nurse Jackie opposite Edie Falco and hosts the critically acclaimed BBC sensation, Top Gear US.  Ferrara has also proudly played Chief Needles Nelson on the Emmy® nominated FX drama series, Rescue Me.  Adam’s movie credits include costarring alongside Kevin James in the hit movie Paul Blart: Mall Cop and Definitely Maybe with Ryan Reynolds.  Ferrara’s earlier TV credits include NBC’s Law & Order, ABC’s Ugly Betty, CBS’s The King of Queens, as well as a series regular on the critically acclaimed ABC show The Job, starring opposite Denis Leary.  At a Television Critics Association press tour, Denis Leary was quoted as saying, “Adam Ferrara is a great comedian, but he’s really pissing me off now because he’s become such a great dramatic actor.” As a comic, Adam’s credits include The Late Show with James Corden, The Tonight Show and Comedy Central. Adam is an elite live performer, perfect for corporate events.

Career Path

2001Joined the cast of ABC's 'The Job' as a series regular opposite Denis Leary, prompting Leary to remark at a Television Critics Association press tour that Ferrara had 'become such a great dramatic actor.'
2009Played Chief Needles Nelson on the Emmy-nominated FX drama 'Rescue Me' and co-starred alongside Kevin James in the hit film 'Paul Blart: Mall Cop.'
2009Taped the Comedy Central stand-up special 'Funny As Hell,' also issued on DVD the same day.
2012Began hosting BBC America's 'Top Gear US,' a role that widened his audience from comedy clubs to the global motoring-entertainment space.
2013Starred on Showtime's 'Nurse Jackie' opposite Edie Falco, earning Entertainment Weekly's label 'Hilarious' and his highest-profile dramatic comedy showcase to date.
2018Issued the stand-up album 'Unconditional,' voted Comedy Album of the Year by Interrobang, and performed on 'The Late Late Show with James Corden.'
2020Dropped the comedy album 'It's Scary in Here,' which debuted at No. 1 on iTunes.
2020Joined the cast of CBS All Access's 'Why Women Kill' alongside Ginnifer Goodwin and Lucy Liu, adding a prestige streaming drama to his network-television record.
2024Returned as recurring character Sammy Craig in the NCIS Season 21 finale 'Reef Madness' on CBS, his third appearance in the franchise since originating the role in 2021.
2025Guest-starred as Gene Genetti Sr. in the CBS drama 'Elsbeth' episode 'Scenes from an Italian Restaurant' and appeared as Sammy Craig in the NCIS Christmas episode 'Heaven and Nature' opposite Wilmer Valderrama and Sean Murray.
