BIOGRAPHy

Steve Rodman is known as the “Comedian with the Magic Touch”. Using his comedic skills and sharp wit, Steve creates hilarious routines that include using members of the audience that leaves audiences both mesmerized and howling with laughter. Steve has appeared as the opening act for such stars as Yakov Smirnov, the Brooklyn Bridge, Gary U.S. Bonds and Bobby Rydell. He has graced the stages of Caesars Resort at Lake Tahoe, Trump Plaza, The Sands Hotel, Trump Castle, and many comedy clubs across the country. More than just an entertainer, it should be noted that Steve was the Magical Consultant for the Broadway hit musical, “The Wiz”.

Career Path

1974Opened the Hocus Pocus Place magic shop while building his performance career, establishing himself as a full-time magician-comedian.
1975Served as Magic Consultant for the original Broadway production of 'The Wiz' at the Majestic Theatre, with the show running through 1979.
1977Transitioned to full-time stand-up magic performing, developing a signature audience-participation format that pairs close-up illusions with sharp comedic timing.
1985Built a national touring profile as opening act for recording artists including Gary U.S. Bonds, Bobby Rydell, and the Brooklyn Bridge.
1990Earned recurring bookings at premier East Coast casino showrooms including Trump Plaza, Trump Castle, and The Sands Hotel, alongside headline club dates across the country.
1995Added major Las Vegas and Lake Tahoe casino showrooms to his circuit, performing at Caesars Resort at Lake Tahoe and expanding his international dates to Hong Kong, the Caribbean, Cuba, and Japan.
2000Performed at the Magic Castle in Hollywood, a credential reserved for magicians vetted by the Academy of Magical Arts.
2010Maintained a schedule of more than 200 shows per year, concentrating on the New York tri-state area while continuing casino, cruise ship, and private-event bookings.
2024Marked roughly five decades as a working comedy-magician, still booking corporate and private events through his Steve Rodman Entertainment brand based in West Hempstead, NY.
