Iconic American rock band Candlebox formed in Seattle, Washington, in 1990. Emerging at the tail end of the early-’90s grunge movement, the group carved out a distinct identity by infusing hard rock with a bluesy, classic edge. They found immediate stardom with their 1993 self-titled debut album, Candlebox, released via Madonna’s Maverick Records. The album went quadruple-platinum, propelled by massive, generation-defining MTV hits like “Far Behind” and “You”. Led by frontman Kevin Martin, the band followed up with successful records like Lucy (1995) and Happy Pills(1998) before disbanding in 2000 due to contract disputes. They reunited in 2006, consistently releasing new music over the next two decades, including Wolves (2021) and their supposed final album, The Long Goodbye (2023). Following that release, the band embarked on a global farewell tour, signaling the end of their 30-year run. However, the retirement proved short-lived. In early 2026, Kevin Martin shocked and thrilled fans by announcing a major comeback. Rejoined by original lead guitarist Peter Klett, the band returned to the studio to work on their upcoming ninth studio album, slated for a 2027 release. To celebrate this new era, Candlebox is actively back on the road for their “Can’t Quit You Tour,” playing major dates and festivals across the United States throughout 2026 and beyond.
