Cody Jinks is widely hailed as a founding father of the modern independent outlaw country renaissance. Born in Haltom City, Texas, Jinks initially defied country conventions by spending his early music career fronting the Fort Worth-based thrash metal band Unchecked Aggression from 1998 to 2003. After the group disbanded, he pivoted back to his roots, recasting himself as an independent honky-tonk balladeer alongside his long-time backing band, the Tone Deaf Hippies. His 2016 self-released breakthrough album, I’m Not the Devil, shocked the industry by peaking at #4 on the Billboard Country Albums chart. This milestone cemented his status as a fiercely self-made powerhouse who routinely disrupts the mainstream Nashville machine. Operating entirely on his own terms through his imprint Late August Records, Jinks has generated over 5 billion global streams, earned eight Gold or Platinum certifications, and sold over 5 million tickets. Following a deeply personal life shift—embracing therapy and total sobriety—he released his critically acclaimed eleventh studio album, In My Blood, in July 2025. The gritty, soulful record explores themes of resilience and blue-collar struggle. Moving through 2026, Jinks continues to shock purists by flexing his diverse sonic boundaries. He spent the first half of the year back in the studio crafting an upcoming full-length project. Simultaneously, he is spending the lion’s share of 2026 subverting expectations on a massive North American co-headlining tour with heavy metal giants Five Finger Death Punch. To celebrate the anniversary of his hit album, Jinks is releasing In My Blood (Deluxe) on July 24, 2026, featuring his brand new single “Good Man”.
