Country star Bucky Covington first captured national attention as an eighth-place finalist on the fifth season of American Idol. Following his breakout television run, he signed with Lyric Street Records. His 2007 self-titled debut album achieved major commercial success, opening at No. 1 on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart and yielding three consecutive Top 10 hits: “A Different World,” “I’ll Walk,” and “It’s Good to Be Us”. Covington has experienced a prominent resurgence in the public eye. In May, he made a high-profile return to the American Idol stage for a special 20th-anniversary “Class of 2006” reunion. During the milestone broadcast, he teamed up with a current finalist for a live duet of Garth Brooks’ “The Thunder Rolls”—a direct throwback to his original 2006 performance. He followed up his television appearance with a series of live summer shows, including a performance at Nashville’s CMA Fest alongside Billy Ray Cyrus at 6th & Peabody. Covington continues to record and tour independently. Alongside his recent singles “Slow” and “Wheels,” his team announced that he has been back in the studio crafting new music ahead of planned tour dates.
