Annie Lennox rose to global fame as half of the 1980s new wave pop duo Eurythmics alongside Dave Stewart, known for iconic hits like “Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)”. She studied classical flute and piano at the Royal Academy of Music in London before leaving to pursue contemporary music. After a stint in the band The Tourists, she and Stewart formed Eurythmics, where Lennox became famous for her striking, androgynous stage presence, soulful four-octave vocal range, and visual reinventions. In 1992, she launched a highly successful solo career with her debut album, Diva, which featured hits such as “No More I Love You’s”. Her subsequent solo records included Medusa and Bare, and she earned an Academy Award for Best Original Song in 2004 for “Into the West” from The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King. Having sold over 80 million records worldwide across her catalog, Lennox has been widely celebrated by critics and publications like Rolling Stone as one of history’s greatest vocalists. Annie has won 8 Brit Awards, 4 Grammys, an Oscar, a Goldern Globe, an MTV Video Music Award, Billboard’s Century Award and was named one of the “Top 100 Singers of All Tim” by Rolling Stone. Annie Lennox continues to perform around the world. Awesome performer!
