BIOGRAPHy

Best-selling author Aziz Ansari – the creator, writer and star of Netflix’s Master of None – began his career in New York while attending NYU, where he frequently performed at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre. In 2005, Ansari began collaborating to make short films. The next year, MTV green lit his sketch series, Human Giant, which debuted in April 2007. The critically acclaimed show completed two seasons. Ansari was then cast in NBC’s Parks and Recreation. He completed his third major tour of new material, Buried Alive, in the summer of 2013. His fourth major comedy special, Live at Madison Square Garden was released on Netflix in 2015. Aziz Ansari, a master at stand-up, continues to tour the globe and can make any event an unforgettable experience.

Career Path

2007Debuted MTV's sketch series 'Human Giant,' co-created and starring Ansari after years of developing short films while performing at New York's Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre.
2009Joined NBC's 'Parks and Recreation' as Tom Haverford, the role that turned him into a household name over the series' seven-season run.
2010Released 'Intimate Moments for a Sensual Evening,' his debut stand-up album, which immediately established him as a comedian with a distinct voice on relationships and modern life.
2015Completed the 'Buried Alive' world tour, over 75 cities including Carnegie Hall and the Sydney Opera House, his third major stand-up run and the foundation for a Netflix special of the same name.
2015Released 'Live at Madison Square Garden' on Netflix and co-created 'Master of None,' the critically acclaimed series he wrote, directed, and starred in.
2017Hosted 'Saturday Night Live,' becoming the first person of South Asian descent to open the show, weeks after the release of 'Master of None' Season 2.
2021Wrote and directed 'Master of None Presents: Moments in Love' for Netflix, a formally experimental season that earned widespread critical acclaim.
2022Released 'Aziz Ansari: Nightclub Comedian' on Netflix, his first stand-up special in three years, covering pandemic life and the strangeness of celebrity.
2025Wrote, directed, and starred in 'Good Fortune,' his feature directorial debut, a supernatural comedy co-starring Keanu Reeves, Seth Rogen, and Keke Palmer.
2026Brought the 'Hypothetical Tour' to venues across North America and internationally, performing new stand-up material through mid-year.
