Ronny Chieng

Ronny Chieng is a Chinese stand-up comedian and actor born in Johor Bahru, Malaysia. He was raised in New Hampshire and Singapore. He moved to New York City in 2015 when he was hired as a correspondent on Comedy Central’s tentpole franchise, The Daily Show with Trevor Noah. Ronny co-wrote and stars in Ronny Chieng: International Student, which previously aired on ABC in Australia, BBC and Comedy Central Asia, and is now on Comedy Central’s streaming platform. He can also be seen in one of 2018’s most critically acclaimed movies, Warner Brothers feature film Crazy Rich Asians. Ronny plays the role of Eddie Cheng, Nick’s status-obsessed cousin. Named by Variety in 2016 as one of its 10 Comics to Watch, Ronny made his U.S. television debut on the Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson and has appeared on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon as well. Ronny has sold out shows all over the world. His writing and acting credits include multiple television comedy shows such as Problems, Legally Brown, It’s a Date, Kinne and more. He has toured and filmed four one-hour stand-up comedy specials: The Ron Way (2012), Can You Do This? No You Can’t. (2013), Chieng Reaction (2014) and You Don’t Know What You’re Talking About (2015).
