What the heck is he going to do next? Greg Proops is best known for his unpredictable appearances on Whose Line Is It Anyway? – the hit improvised comedy series on ABC hosted by Drew Carey. Greg is also a regular on the long-running British version of Who’s Line Is It Anyway?, Comedy Central and The ABC Family Channel. Proops’ other television appearances include: The Drew Carey Show, The Late, Late Show with Craig Kilborn, Just Shoot Me, Talk Soup, Politically Incorrect, The Wayne Brady Show and Hollywood Squares. Greg also hosted his own syndicated national dating show, Rendez-View, and the now cult classic game show, Comedy Central’s Versus. Across the Atlantic in the United Kingdom, Greg was honored to rock the mic at Prince Charles’ 50th Royal Birthday Gala, seen on ITV. He also performed on Comedy Store Five for Channel Five and has bantered on All Talk with Clive Anderson. Below the equator in Australia, G-Piddy jammed at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival and hosted Hey, it’s Saturday!, a national TV institution. Career Path

1989Became a defining regular on 'Whose Line Is It Anyway?' for the UK series on Channel 4, establishing the improvisational persona that would later carry to the ABC version hosted by Drew Carey.
1998Performed at Prince Charles' 50th Royal Birthday Gala in the United Kingdom, broadcast on ITV, marking one of his highest-profile international engagements.
2001Hosted 'Rendez-View,' a syndicated national dating show, and Comedy Central's cult-favorite game show 'Versus,' expanding his television footprint beyond sketch comedy.
2010Launched 'The Smartest Man in the World,' a live podcast recorded in cities from Edinburgh and London to San Francisco and Melbourne, accumulating over 550 episodes across 15 years.
2015Published 'The Smartest Book in the World: A Lexicon of Literacy, A Rancorous Reportage, A Concise Curriculum of Cool,' a culture-spanning companion to his podcast.
2015Released the live comedy album 'In the Ball Park,' recorded before a sold-out crowd in San Francisco and pressed on limited-edition orange vinyl LP.
2018Voiced the recurring characters Jak Sivrak and Garma in the Disney animated series 'Star Wars Resistance,' adding to a long voice-acting resume.
2022Joined long-time collaborators Ryan Stiles, Jeff Davis, and Chip Esten as a featured performer on the nationally touring live improv show 'Whose Live Anyway?', playing theaters across the US and Canada.
2025Released 'Free State of California,' his ninth live comedy album, recorded at The Punch Line in San Francisco on New Year's Eve and issued through Aspecialthing Records.
2026Continues touring as a headliner with dates at venues including Comedy Works in Denver, alongside ongoing 'Whose Live Anyway?' engagements across North America.
