BIOGRAPHy

Anthony Jeselnik was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He earned a BA in English Literature from Tulane University. Anthony’s pitch-black sense of humor, brilliant joke writing, and devilish charm have made him a smash hit in the alternative comedy community and one of Daily Variety’s “Comedy’s Ten to Watch.” Anthony has appeared as a stand-up on many shows including Down & Dirty with Jim Norton (HBO), Conan, Premiun Blend, Jimmy Kimmel Live and Last Call with Carson Daly. After releasing his critically acclaimed debut album Shakespeare in 2010, he began writing for the Comedy Central Roasts and moved up to performer for the 2011 Roast of Donald Trump. In 2013, Jeselnik hosted his own Comedy Central series, The Jeselnik Offensive and released his second album, Caligula, which doubles as an hour-long stand-up special. In 2015, Jeselnik became the host of NBC’s Emmy Award-nominated series Last Comic Standing. His second stand-up special, Thoughts and Prayers, premiered in October 2015 on Netflix. Jeselnik will lighten up any event with his take-no-prisoners humor.

Career Path

2009Hired as a staff writer for 'Late Night with Jimmy Fallon', launching his professional comedy writing career at 30 Rockefeller Plaza.
2010Released his debut stand-up album 'Shakespeare', drawing national attention with its pitch-black wit and making him one of Daily Variety's 'Comedy's Ten to Watch.'
2011Graduated from writer to performer at the Comedy Central Roast of Donald Trump, his first roast appearance, earning an immediate three-point network deal encompassing an hour special, additional roasts, and a development commitment.
2013Hosted his own Comedy Central series 'The Jeselnik Offensive' and released 'Caligula', a live special recorded at the Vic Theatre in Chicago that topped Billboard's Top Comedy Albums chart.
2015Took over as host of NBC's Emmy Award-nominated series 'Last Comic Standing', shifting from a supporting roaster to the face of a primetime competition.
2016'Thoughts and Prayers' premiered on Netflix as his first streaming special, delivering his most widely distributed hour of comedy to date.
2019'Fire in the Maternity Ward' debuted on Netflix, doubling down on the confrontational style that built his cult following across two continents.
2023Launched the 'Bones and All' world tour, a two-year run of more than 100 sold-out shows across North America, Australia, and Europe.
2024'Bones and All' premiered on Netflix, marking his third special for the platform and his first filmed release in five years, shot during the sold-out tour.
