John Witherspoon has found his niche, becoming a regular scene-stealer in such feature films as “Uncle Nicky,” “Friday & Next Friday,” “The Ladies' Man” and “Boomerang,” He has worked with such big-screen sensations as Eddie Murphy, Adam Sandler, Will Smith, Martin Lawrence and Tim Meadows, as well as some of the most brilliant directors in the business, including Wes Craven and Reggie Hudlin. Witherspoon went from stand-up comedy to becoming one of the most sought after comedians for film, television and personal appearances. One of his most memorable roles was in Paramount Pictures' “Boomerang,” where Witherspoon cunningly stole the entire Thanksgiving scene and is still being quoted for his famous catch phrases, “You gotta coordinate!” and “Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!” Witherspoon is known to television audiences as “Pops” from The WB Network’s “Wayans Brothers.” He enjoyed five successful years as the hilarious, witty father on the show, which is now in syndication. Some of Witherspoon’s other unforgettable roles include playing the cynical nemesis to Eddie Murphy in Paramount Pictures’ “Vampire in Brooklyn” and the hysterically amusing father in New Line Cinema’s “Friday and Next Friday.” John has also made over a dozen appearances on “The David Letterman Show.” John Witherspoon continues to do stand-up all over the world.
