After finished third on the sixteenth season of American Idol, American country music singer and songwriter Gabby Barrett ‘s debut album Goldmine was released in June 2020 and the hot streak has never stopped. In 2019, Barrett independently released "I Hope" and performed the song in an appearance on Season 17 of American Idol. The song attracted the attention of music labels, and Barrett announced on stage after the performance she had signed with Warner Music Nashville. "I Hope" was then officially released as a single topping Billboard's Country Streaming Songs chart as well as the Country Airplay chart in April 2020, followed by the Hot Country Songs chart. On April 7, 2020, a version featuring Charlie Puth was released and the single hit number three on the Billboard Hot 100, making her the first female country artist to do so since Taylor Swift. As of January 2021, the single has been number one for 24 weeks on the Hot Country Songs chart and is now the third longest running #1 in Billboard Hot Country Songs History with her 25th week atop the chart. Her follow up single, “The Good Ones,” is now Top 15 at Country Radio with over 157M Global streams to date. She continues to break new records coming into 2021.
