The Doobie Brothers

The Doobie Brothers have sold over 30 million albums in the United States. They were inducted into The Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 2004. Six of their albums have reached platinum sales – with 1978’s Minute by Minute earning triple platinum status. Minute by Minute also reached number one on the Billboard Top 200 chart. Singles “Black Water” and “What a Fool Believes” were both number one hits on the Billboard chart. The band released 2000’s Sibling Rivalry, their first new studio album in nine years. World Gone Crazy followed in 2010. It debuted at number 39 on the Billboard top 200 albums chart. In 2014, they released Southbound. The Doobie Brothers continue to perform around the world with their large resume of classic songs.

Career Path

1972Released 'Toulouse Street' featuring 'Listen to the Music', the Warner Bros. single that gave the band its first national radio hit.
1973'The Captain and Me' produced 'Long Train Runnin'' and 'China Grove', two Top 40 hits that made the Doobie Brothers a rock radio staple.
1975'Black Water' reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100, the band's first chart-topper and a landmark in their catalog.
1978'What a Fool Believes', featuring Michael McDonald, hit number one on the Billboard Hot 100 and powered 'Minute by Minute' to the top of the Billboard 200, the album eventually earned triple-platinum status.
2004Inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame, recognizing the band's six platinum albums and more than 30 million records sold in the United States.
2010Released 'World Gone Crazy', their first studio album of new original material since 1989, debuting at number 39 on the Billboard 200.
2020Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in a virtual ceremony broadcast on HBO Max, with Tom Johnston, Patrick Simmons, and Michael McDonald among the honorees.
2021Released 'Liberté' on Island Records, their first album of entirely new original material since 'World Gone Crazy' and a return to form praised by classic rock critics.
2025Released 'Walk This Road' on Rhino Records, the first-ever studio album featuring Tom Johnston, Patrick Simmons, John McFee, and Michael McDonald recording together, and were inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame.
2025Launched the North American 'Walk This Road' tour with Steve Winwood as opening act, performing behind their 16th studio album at venues across the U.S.
