Legendary rock band Foreigner celebrates its monumental 50th anniversary in 2026 with a massive global tour spanning over 90 shows, co-headlining with Lynyrd Skynyrd, feature appearances by original frontman Lou Gramm, and continuing a powerful legacy defined by iconic chart-topping anthems.
Formed in 1976 by veteran guitarist Mick Jones and original vocalist Lou Gramm, Foreigner quickly became a powerhouse in the arena rock landscape. With a unique blend of American and British musical roots, the band made history as the first act since The Beatles to place their first eight singles in the Top 20 of the Billboard Hot 100. Their legendary catalog boasts timeless multi-platinum hits like “Cold As Ice,” “Hot Blooded,” “Juke Box Hero,” and the global chart-dominating ballad “I Want to Know What Love Is”. Having sold more than 80 million records worldwide, the group cemented an indelible blueprint for late-70s and 80s melodic rock. Entering 2026, Foreigner pivot away from prior retirement plans to embrace a thriving new chapter of momentum. Propelled by a current lineup featuring lead vocalist Luis Maldonado, bassist Jeff Pilson, keyboardist Michael Bluestein, and guitarist Bruce Watson, the band launched an expansive international anniversary itinerary. Highlights of this milestone year include packed European club and festival runs, the nationwide U.S. “Double Trouble Double Vision” amphitheater tour alongside Lynyrd Skynyrd, and special reunion appearances by Lou Gramm. 1977Launched their career with the self-titled debut album on Atlantic Records, introducing 'Feels Like the First Time' and 'Cold as Ice' to rock radio.
1978Released 'Double Vision' on Atlantic Records, a seven-times platinum smash that drove 'Hot Blooded' to #3 on the Billboard Hot 100.
1981Delivered '4', the multi-platinum album housing 'Juke Box Hero', 'Urgent', and 'Waiting for a Girl Like You', cementing the band's arena-rock dominance.
1984'I Want to Know What Love Is' from 'Agent Provocateur' topped charts worldwide, becoming the band's signature power ballad and global #1.
2011Stripped the catalog to its bones with the critically acclaimed acoustic project 'Acoustique', proving the songbook's durability outside arena production.
2023Launched the Historic Farewell Tour across North America and Europe, drawing sold-out crowds to arenas for one final run through 70 million albums' worth of hits.
