BIOGRAPHy

Il Divo put a fresh face on popular songs, utilizing their exceptional voices, good looks, and cultural diversity to bring their romantic blend of classical and pop music to audiences around the world. Formed after a two-year search, the quartet is comprised of American tenor David Miller, popular French singer Sébastien Izambard, Swiss tenor Urs Buhler, and Spanish baritone Carlos Marin. Their eponymous debut album was released in April of 2005 and featured a diverse play list that included a cover of the Toni Braxton hit “Unbreak My Heart” and the Frank Sinatra standard “My Way.” It became a massive worldwide hit, and the quartet returned in 2006 with Ancora, a ten-track collection of new music featuring the hit “I Believe in You” with Celine Dion. The similarly themed Siempre arrived in 2006, followed by Promise in 2008. 2011’s Wicked Game, the group’s sixth studio album, featured ten new tracks, including “Don’t Cry for Me Argentina,” “Come What May (Te Amore),” and a reworking of the Chris Isaak-penned title cut. Amor & Pasion arrived in 2015. Il Divo continues to pack ’em in all over the globe.

Career Path

2004Formed by Simon Cowell after a two-year global search, the classical crossover quartet brought together American tenor David Miller, French tenor Sebastien Izambard, Swiss tenor Urs Buhler, and Spanish baritone Carlos Marin.
2005Released their eponymous debut album featuring a cover of 'Unbreak My Heart' and the Frank Sinatra standard 'My Way,' which became a massive worldwide hit.
2006Released 'Ancora,' featuring 'I Believe in You' with Celine Dion, which hit number one on charts across multiple countries and cemented their crossover appeal.
2008Released 'Promise,' their fourth studio album, maintaining a release pace that kept the group on charts in Europe, North America, and Latin America simultaneously.
2011Released 'Wicked Game,' the group's sixth studio album, featuring orchestral reimaginings of 'Don't Cry for Me Argentina,' 'Come What May,' and the Chris Isaak-penned title track.
2015Released 'Amor and Pasion,' leaning deeper into the Latin romantic repertoire that had defined their global fanbase since the debut.
2022Honored Carlos Marin, who died from COVID-19 complications, with the Greatest Hits Tour, bringing American baritone Steven LaBrie on the road as a guest performer.
2024Released 'XX: 20th Anniversary Album' on their own label Il Divo Music via Thirty Tigers, the first album with Steven LaBrie as a full member and the first issued on vinyl in the group's history, followed by a 30-city US summer tour.
2025Launched the 'Il Divo By Candlelight' world tour, a 39-city North American campaign staged in venues lit entirely by candlelight, running through Spring 2026 across performing arts centers and casino resort theaters.
