From the remote tundra of her Alaskan youth to the triumph of international stardom, Jewel has traveled a singular road as an acclaimed singer, songwriter, poet, actress and painter. The four-time Grammy nominee was hailed by The Times of London as “the most sparkling female singer-songwriter since Joni Mitchell.” To date, Jewel has sold over 25 million albums worldwide, enjoying a career longevity rare among her generation of artists. Jewel’s personal odyssey, partly chronicled on her eleven-time platinum debut album, Pieces of You. Among her many accolades are three Grammy Award nominations, an American Music Award and an MTV Video Music Award. In 1999, she was presented the prestigious Governor’s Award from the Los Angeles chapter of the Recording Academy (NARAS). The award recognizes those “whose creative talents and accomplishments have crossed all musical boundaries and have been recognized as an asset to our music community.” Known for her introspective folk-pop style, she has released 13 studio albums, including Spirit (1998) and Freewheelin’ Woman(2022). In 2021, Jewel won the sixth season of The Masked Singer as the “Queen of Hearts”. Jewell continues to tour the world.

Career Path

1994Debut album 'Pieces of You' arrived out of a period of homelessness in San Diego, going eleven-times platinum on the back of the breakout single 'Who Will Save Your Soul.'
1995'You Were Meant for Me' became her signature ballad, spending months on the Billboard Hot 100 and anchoring her reputation as the most important folk-pop voice of her generation.
1995Joined Olivia Rodrigo at Madison Square Garden to perform 'You Were Meant for Me,' and co-headlined a national tour with Melissa Etheridge.
1997'Foolish Games' crossed over to adult contemporary radio, earning Jewel a Grammy nomination for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance.
1998Third studio album 'Spirit' debuted at number three on the Billboard 200 and produced the single 'Hands,' which became an anthem adopted by humanitarian campaigns worldwide.
1999Honored with the prestigious Governor's Award from the Los Angeles chapter of NARAS, recognizing her creative talents as having 'crossed all musical boundaries.'
2001Reinvented her sound on 'This Way,' incorporating dance-pop production with the single 'Standing Still' and demonstrating a range her folk-pop peers rarely attempted.
2021Won season six of Fox's 'The Masked Singer' as the Queen of Hearts, introducing her voice to a new generation of primetime viewers without ever revealing her identity.
2022Released thirteenth studio album 'Freewheelin' Woman' on her own label Words Matter Media, and represented Alaska on the inaugural 'American Song Contest' performing 'The Story.'
2023Sang the national anthem at both the NBA All-Star Game and the Indianapolis 500, cementing her status as a go-to voice for marquee American events.
