BIOGRAPHy

Prankster Jim Florentine has been on quite a roll lately. Besides, being a regular at New York City’s best clubs including The Comedy Cellar and Carolines’ On Broadway, Jim is one of the stars behind Comedy Central’s hit show “Crank Yankers” along with Jimmy Kimmel and Adam Carolla and Wanda Sykes. Jim’s character, “Special Ed,” is one of the show’s breakout characters. Jim has also as has appeared on numerous stand-up comedy programs including MTV’s “The Jim Breuer Show,” Comedy Central’s “Crank Yankers,” 2003 MTV Music Video Awards, “Jimmy Kimmel Live” on ABC, “Last Call with Carson Daly” on NBC, Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn on Comedy Central and Louie Anderson’s “Comedy Showcase.” He has also been in several independent films and he is currently in negotiations with a major record label to distribute his hit CD’s “Terrorizing Telemarketers.” The CD’s have been heard extensively during his many appearances on The Howard Stern Show.

Career Path

2001Released 'Terrorizing Telemarketers Vol. 1,' a prank-call CD that shot from obscurity to number 2 on Amazon after heavy rotation on The Howard Stern Show.
2002Brought his 'Special Ed' character to Comedy Central's 'Crank Yankers,' created by Jimmy Kimmel and Adam Carolla, making 'Special Ed' one of the show's breakout puppets.
2008Joined VH1 Classic as co-host of 'That Metal Show' alongside Don Jamieson and Eddie Trunk, a platform that ran for 14 seasons until 2015 and cemented his standing in hard-rock culture.
2013Launched 'Metal Midgets,' a regular show on SiriusXM's Ozzy's Boneyard channel, deepening his foothold in satellite radio's metal community.
2016Dropped two specials in the same year: the deeply personal one-man show 'I'm Your Savior,' about the death of his ex-girlfriend, and 'A Simple Man,' which debuted at number one on the comedy charts.
2018Published 'Everybody Is Awful (Except You!)' through Da Capo Press, collecting his sharpest social observations into a widely reviewed book that complemented his stand-up.
2021Headlined a run of club dates anchored by material from his 'Terrorizing Telemarketers' series, maintaining a steady presence at New York rooms including The Comedy Cellar and Carolines on Broadway.
2024Released the comedy album 'You Can't Please Em All' through Johnny Blade LLC, an 11-track set that demonstrated his knack for crowd-work and blunt social commentary.
2025Continued his national club tour with appearances including Helium Comedy Club in St. Louis, proving his longevity as a working road comic three-plus decades into his career.
