BIOGRAPHy

The Josh Abbott Band is a country band from the state of Texas. The group is composed of Josh Abbott (vocals, guitar), Austin Davis (banjo), Preston Wait (fiddle, guitar), Edward Villanueva (drums), James Hertless (bass guitar), Caleb Keeter (guitar) and David Fralin (keys/mandolin). In 2015, the band released their fourth studio album, Front Row Seat, a concept album detailing Abbott’s relationship with his ex-wife. It debuted on the Top Country Albums chart at No. 9, selling 12,800 copies in its first week. The second single from Front Row Seat, “Wasn’t That Drunk,” garnered attention from a national radio and media, including appearances on Jimmy Kimmel and Conan. The Josh Abbott Band continues to rock out everywhere there’s a stage.

Career Path

2008Released the debut album 'Scapegoat' independently, establishing the Lubbock-rooted band as a self-sufficient force in the Texas country scene.
2010Released 'She's Like Texas,' the breakout album whose title-track single crossed over to the national Country Songs chart, anchoring the band's reputation across the Texas circuit.
2012'Small Town Family Dream' debuted at No. 5 on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart, selling 21,000 copies in its first week and signaling the band's arrival as a mainstream Texas country draw.
2015Released 'Front Row Seat,' deepening the band's catalog of story-driven Texas songwriting and extending their reach to festival and amphitheater stages.
2017Released 'Until My Voice Goes Out,' a full-band album that reinforced their reputation for honest, road-worn songwriting across more than a decade of touring.
2020Released 'The Highway Kind,' a studio album that kept the band's output consistent through an otherwise disrupted year for live music.
2022Released 'Josh Abbott Band and Friends, Vol. 1,' an EP showcasing collaborations with fellow Texas country artists, and headlined JABFest, their own annual fan festival.
2023Performed at The Long Road Festival in the UK, bringing Texas country to international audiences, and released 'Josh Abbott Band and Friends, Vol. 2' with additional collaborative tracks.
2024Released the full-length album 'Somewhere Down The Road' and performed at Stagecoach, California's premier country music festival, alongside major national acts.
2025Released the single 'The Encore,' continuing nearly two decades of consistent output as one of the most enduring independent acts in Texas country.
