BIOGRAPHy

As the winner of NBC’s The Voice, American soul singer and singer-songwriter Josh Kaufman is building an incredibly loyal following. Following the win, which marked the first of Team Usher, Kaufman took to Broadway as the title character in the Tony Award winning musical Pippin. At 16, Josh appeared on Star Search and in 2011, Kaufman auditioned for the first season of Simon Cowell’s The X Factor. Not only does Josh have an incredible singing voice, but he’s a masterful guitarist. With his heartfelt original songs and soulful covers, he has captivated audiences worldwide. Clearly, this Midwesterner’s strong work is paying off, and has no signs of slowing down. Josh just released an album in 2016, and he continues to tour the globe. Career Path

2004Appeared on CBS's Star Search at age 16, earning his first national television exposure as a vocalist years before his mainstream breakthrough.
2011Auditioned for the debut season of Simon Cowell's The X Factor, marking his first attempt to reach a national audience through a major televised competition.
2014Won Season 6 of NBC's The Voice as the first artist to win on Team Usher, with his blind-audition cover of George Michael's "One More Try" setting the tone for a run that captivated voters.
2014Made his Broadway debut in the title role of the Tony Award-winning revival of Stephen Schwartz's Pippin, stepping into the lead within months of his Voice victory.
2016Released his debut EP Josh Kaufman, a collection of heartfelt original songs and soulful arrangements that established his reputation as a singer-songwriter beyond the competition circuit.
2019Released NDOXO Vol. 1, a soul-and-jazz-rooted album co-written with producer Bleu McAuley and launched with a release show at The Jazz Kitchen in Indianapolis.
2021Appeared as a guest vocalist with The Roots on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, bringing his soul voice to NBC's flagship late-night stage.
2023Headlined the Indy Jazz Fest, performing to his adopted hometown crowd and cementing his standing as one of Indianapolis's most celebrated live performers.
2025Released the single "Soma Coma" featuring trumpeter Mark Buselli, blending blues, jazz, and funk into the most adventurous studio recording of his post-Voice catalog.
