BIOGRAPHy

Actress and singer Keala Settle is the breakout star of 20th Century Fox’s “The Greatest Showman.” The Hawaii native’s performance of the film’s Oscar-nominated song “This Is Me” became an explosive anthem of self-acceptance, propelling the soundtrack to the top of the charts worldwide and reaching #1 on the UK’s charts for a record smashing 20 weeks (surpassing Adele’s 21). Keala’s electrifying live performances of “This Is Me” has stunned audiences of The Today Show, The Graham Norton Show and The Ellen Show as well as received universal praise during the 2018 Academy Awards ceremony.  Settle began her musical career as a studio vocalist and back up singer for Gladys Knight in Las Vegas. After her Broadway debut in Priscilla Queen of the Desert, she earned a Tony nomination for her performance in Hand on a Hardbody. She also appeared in the revival of Les Miserables and Waitress. This paved the way for her foray into film where she debuted in Rick and the Flash alongside Meryl Streep. In December 2018 she released her debut EP “Chapter One.” Keala Settle effortlessly bridges the gap between Motown soul queen and modern pop star, thanks to her iconic voice and unwavering confidence and she is just getting started!

Career Path

2011Made her Broadway debut in 'Priscilla Queen of the Desert', establishing her stage presence before landing lead roles.
2013Earned a Tony Award nomination for Best Featured Actress in a Musical for her performance in 'Hands on a Hardbody', drawing industry-wide attention.
2016Originated the role of Becky in the Broadway premiere of 'Waitress', building a resume of show-stopping ensemble work that led directly to her film breakthrough.
2017Portrayed Lettie Lutz, the Bearded Lady, in 20th Century Fox's 'The Greatest Showman', delivering 'This Is Me' as the film's emotional centerpiece and propelling the soundtrack to number one on the UK charts for a record 20 weeks.
2017'This Is Me' won the Golden Globe for Best Original Song and was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Original Song; Settle performed the song live at the 2018 Academy Awards ceremony to universal praise.
2017Released her debut EP 'Chapter One', marking her first solo recorded work as a lead artist after years as a studio vocalist and backup singer for Gladys Knight in Las Vegas.
2022Made her West End debut as the Nurse in '& Juliet' at the Shaftesbury Theatre, then joined the cast of 'Sister Act' in London, both in the same year.
2024Played Miss Coddle in Jon M. Chu's blockbuster film adaptation of 'Wicked' alongside Cynthia Erivo, Ariana Grande, and Jonathan Bailey, and returned to the role of Angelique in '& Juliet' at the Sydney Lyric Theatre.
2024Led the UK premiere of 'Fly More Than You Fall' at Southwark Playhouse Elephant in London, creating a new role in an original musical.
2025Starred as Mary Lincoln in 'Mrs. President' at Charing Cross Theatre in London, continuing her run as one of the most in-demand performers across film and the West End.
