Mick Thomas

“Mick” is a derogatory term for Irish American immigrants. Of that lot, Mick Thomas is the funniest. Born and raised in Wexford, Ireland, it wasn’t until moving to New York that Mick’s stand-up comedy career was born. A natural performer and insightful writer, in a few short years Mick has blown away one club owner after the next with his honest and genuinely original takes on American society and life as a young and dedicated family man. Mick Thomas entertains audiences regularly all across Long Island and Manhattan, and is swiftly becoming one of the most sought after acts in Clubs and Casinos up and down the East Coast including The Borgata Hotel and Casino and The Comedy Cellar. Mick has performed with the biggest names in comedy including Dom Irrera, John Pinette, Jim Breuer and the late Greg Giraldo. Most recently Mick was seen on Gotham Comedy Live on AXS tv. Career Path

2010His stand-up career took root in New York after relocating from Wexford, Ireland, with material built around immigrant family life and outsider observations on American culture.
2012East Coast casino bookings followed, including a slot at The Borgata Hotel and Casino, alongside a regular spot at The Comedy Cellar in Greenwich Village.
2013Stage time with Dom Irrera, John Pinette, Jim Breuer, Norm Macdonald, and the late Greg Giraldo placed him among working headliners rather than openers.
2014A taping of Gotham Comedy Live on AXS TV gave him his first national television credit, spotlighting the family-man-abroad voice that had built his live following.
2019The "Cheaper than Therapy" podcast launched, a monthly show mixing stand-up war stories and observations on family life that grew to more than 100,000 combined followers across platforms.
2022The All Irish Comedy Tour added him to its circuit, bringing his Wexford-to-Long-Island story to Irish-American audiences from New York across the East Coast.
2023A co-bill with singer Andy Cooney at the Irish Cultural Center of the Mohawk Valley in Utica paired his stand-up with one of the Irish-American community's most prominent musical acts.
2024Carnegie Hall and NYCB Theatre at Westbury bookings moved him from club rooms into concert halls, confirmed by a February 2024 Greater Long Island profile that also placed him at 46 years old and living in East Patchogue.
2025Active touring dates across the U.S. continued through 2025, with the "Cheaper than Therapy" podcast releasing new episodes as recently as April 2025 on Apple Podcasts.
