Deborah Cox

Deborah Cox is often cited as Canada's top R&B artist. Her 1998 song, "Nobody's Supposed to Be Here," held the record for longest-running number one single on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks chart (14 weeks), a record held for nearly eight years. She has achieved eleven number-one hits on Billboard's Hot Dance Club Play chart. In 2011, Cox achieved her 11th #1 with "If It Wasn't For Love." In 2012, Cox gave her inaugural performance as Lucy the female lead in a revival of the musical Jekyll & Hyde starring Constantine Maroulis. After premiering in La Mirada CA, this production toured North America for twenty-five weeks before its Broadway run. Cox had a new track "Higher" issued in the autumn of 2012, and in May 2013, she stated that she was planning to record a dance version of the Jekyll & Hyde number "Someone Like You." Cox continues to the world.
