Riley Green has become a prominent voice in modern country music. Born in Jacksonville, Alabama, Green grew up immersed in traditional country and bluegrass. Before pursuing a music career full-time, he was a Division I FCS college football quarterback at Jacksonville State University and worked in home construction. Green initially built local momentum through independent EP releases and gained reality television fame by winning Redneck Island in 2014. He officially signed with Big Machine Label Group in 2018 and quickly secured his first No. 1 country radio hit with “There Was This Girl”. Known for his down-to-earth, authentic songwriting style, he achieved massive critical and commercial success with the multi-platinum anthem “I Wish Grandpas Never Died” and was named the ACM New Male Artist of the Year in 2020. His mainstream trajectory accelerated with subsequent albums, including Ain’t My Last Rodeo (2023) and Don’t Mind If I Do (2024), the latter featuring hit duets with Ella Langley. Green released his highly anticipated fourth studio album, That’s Just Me, which debuted at a career-high No. 3 on the Billboard 200 chart. Alongside headlining major arena runs like his Cowboy As It Gets Tour, Green has expanded his presence in entertainment by making his acting debut on the CBS series Marshals and joining NBC’s reality singing competition The Voice as a coach for Season 30.
