BIOGRAPHy

St. Vincent, began her music career as a member of the Polyphonic Spree. She was also a member of Sufjan Stevens’ band before forming her own band in 2006. Her debut album is Marry Me (2007), followed by Actor (2009), Strange Mercy (2011), St. Vincent (2014), Masseduction (2017) and Daddy’s Home (2021). Her fourth solo album, St. Vincent, was named 2014’s album of the year by The Guardian, Entertainment Weekly, NME, and Slant. The album won her a Grammy for Best Alternative Album. In 2018, two of St. Vincent’s songs were included in NPR’s “200 Greatest songs by 21st Century Women”: “Digital Witness” (from St. Vincent), placed at number 181, and “Cruel” , at number 38. Strange Mercy was among Pitchfork’s 200 Best Albums of the 2010s while St. Vincent ranked number 65 on Rolling Stone’s 100 Best Albums of the 2010s. Masseduction, released in 2017, earned two awards at the 2019 Grammys, namely Best Rock Song (for “Masseduction”) and Best Recording Package. Daddy’s Home was released in May 2021. In April 2021 St. Vincent was the musical guest on Saturday Night Live. St. Vincent starred in the 2020 psychological thriller film The Nowhere Inn, featuring a script written by her and Carrie Brownstein, about a fictional attempt to make a documentary on St. Vincent’s musical career.

2006Founded the St. Vincent project after stints as a member of the Polyphonic Spree and Sufjan Stevens' touring band, bringing orchestral and indie-rock sensibilities into a solo voice.
2007Released debut album 'Marry Me', the first of seven studio albums that would trace a restless arc from chamber-pop to art-rock to gritty funk.
2012Collaborated with David Byrne on 'Love This Giant', pairing her guitar and art-pop instincts with Byrne's brass-driven compositional language.
2014The self-titled 'St. Vincent' won the Grammy for Best Alternative Album and was named album of the year by The Guardian, Entertainment Weekly, NME, and Slant; Rolling Stone later ranked it number 65 on its 100 Best Albums of the 2010s.
2017Released 'Masseduction', which won two awards at the 2019 Grammys: Best Rock Song for the title track and Best Recording Package.
2021Co-wrote and starred in the psychological thriller film 'The Nowhere Inn' alongside Carrie Brownstein, which fictionalizes a documentary about St. Vincent's own musical persona.
2021'Daddy's Home', released and promoted with an SNL appearance performing 'Pay Your Way in Pain', won Best Alternative Music Album at the 64th Grammy Awards, making her the first woman to win that category twice.
2024Released 'All Born Screaming', her first fully self-produced album, drawing on industrial and raw rock textures; the record earned four Grammy nominations.
2024'All Born Screaming' swept three awards at the 67th Grammy Awards: Best Alternative Music Album, Best Rock Song for 'Broken Man', and Best Alternative Music Performance for 'Flea', extending her record for most wins by a female soloist in the Alternative category.
2026Released her first live album, 'Live in London!', recorded at the BBC Proms finale at the Royal Albert Hall with conductor Jules Buckley, then launched a 15-city North American orchestral tour.
