BIOGRAPHy

Growing up in a house with five sisters and no brothers, and now with his wife and two small daughters, Jim Colliton has turned his female-dominated life and years of wearing hand-me-down Sassoon jeans into a hilarious comedy routine. Whether it’s making breakfast for his daughter or killing bats in his house, Jim always turns real-life situations into a relatable side-splitting story. Jim’s love for performing comes across every time he takes the stage with his dry delivery and unique improvisational skills. On telelvision, Jim has been seen nationally on shows like Ed McMahon’s Next Big Star, Comcast’s Comedy Spot Light with Bob Zany and Gotham Comedy Live on AXS TV. Jim is also a regular performer at The Tropicana in Las Vegas and Atlantic City where he has shared the stage with national acts like Brian Regan, Anthony Clark and Dom Irrera. He has also performed at both the San Francisco Comedy Festival and The Comedy Central Laugh Riots.

Career Path

2008Recorded debut comedy album 'Stories from the Suburbs,' which won Best Comedy Album at the Just Plain Folks Music Festival in Nashville.
2010Landed regular rotation on SiriusXM's comedy channels, bringing his dry suburban storytelling to a national satellite audience.
2011Appeared nationally on 'Gotham Comedy Live' on AXS TV, showcasing his deadpan delivery alongside New York's top stand-up circuit.
2015'Why Is Dad So Angry?' became one of the most-requested comedy albums on SiriusXM, cementing Colliton as the voice of the bewildered suburban father.
2016Taped the Dry Bar Comedy special 'Please, Take the Lunch!', his first nationally distributed video special, filmed for the fast-growing clean comedy platform.
2019Filmed a second Dry Bar Comedy set, expanding his reach to Dry Bar's tens of millions of online viewers.
2022Recorded the full-length stand-up special 'Ultimate Dad' live in Key West, FL, released on YouTube and Laugh Button, drawing on his material about raising three kids in the Boston suburbs.
2024Co-headlined a New England comedy run with Jimmy Dunn, performing at Apex Entertainment in Marlborough and the Portsmouth Music Hall.
2025Headlined Nick's Comedy Stop in Boston, his home-market anchor venue where he has honed the observational, song-punctuated set that draws from life as a father of three.
