Stand-Up Comedians
John Diresta
John DiResta started his comedy career in the New York City Police Department, where he patrolled the 300 miles of subway tunnels under New York City looking for down and out clients that needed help. From there, he turned his life story into the very successful one-man show, Beat: A Subway Cop’s Comedy, which ran for eight months in New York City. Two days after it closed, the project sold to ABC for big money. DiResta then resigned from the NYPD and moved to Hollywood. DiResta's self-titled sitcom, DiResta, ran for 17 episodes on UPN. DiResta then went on to star in over a dozen feature films. He can be seen in Miss Congeniality, Miss Congeniality 2: Armed and Fabulous, How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, and the suspense thriller 15 Minutes, along with Robert De Niro. In addition to his sitcom, DiResta has had three additional television shows on the air. He can currently be seen as the host of Hammered, the hysterical building show that runs on the DIY Network three times a week. DiResta also played Brooklyn Johnny on Comedy Central’s American Body Shop. He was also the creator and host of Trash to Cash with John DiResta. It was a cult hit on FX. When not out touring the country, DiResta can be seen performing at the Laugh Factory on Sunset or at the Laugh Factory in Long Beach. DiResta is a modern day Johnny Appleseed, spreading big smiles and huge laughs all over the World. DiResta is going one place and one place only, straight to the top baby!
