BIOGRAPHy

Mark DeMayo is fresh off taping “Gotham Comedy Live” on AXS.tv. He is a regular at the top comedy clubs in NYC & Tri-State area. He headlines casino, resorts and has toured college campuses throughout the country. Mark worked his way to the top of the comedy business. All the while continuing to fight crime as a NYC Police Detective. Recently retired from The NYPD. Mark DeMayo is now free to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth, about what its really like to be a NYC Cop. Marks stories about his days on the force are hysterical, insightful and interesting and will soon be included in his One Man Show perfectly entitled “20 & OUT.” Mark has been featured on ShowTime’s “White Boyz in da Hood” Comedy Centrals “Laffopolooza,” Si-Tv’s Latino Laughter” and the film “Stand-Up 360.” He can also be scene giving celebrity commentary on MTV & Spike TV. Mark is also an accomplished actor with guest starring roles on CBS “DellaVentura,” “Central Park West” and Fox “The Jury.”

Career Path

1992Joined the NYPD and began a 20-year career as a New York City Police Detective, simultaneously building his stand-up comedy presence in the NYC clubs.
2003Retired from the NYPD after 20 years on the force, freeing him to perform full-time and tell the inside truth about life as a NYC cop.
2008Featured in the documentary 'New York's Finest', bringing his cop-turned-comedian perspective to a wider audience.
2014Wrote and produced the one-man show '20 & Out', a comedy about his NYPD career, which was accepted into the NYC Fringe Festival and earned rave reviews from critics.
2019Guest-starred as George the Evidence Clerk on NBC's 'Law & Order SVU' and was cast as Det. Cortez on CBS's 'FBI: Most Wanted', expanding his acting résumé beyond comedy.
2019Co-founded the 'Police Off the Cuff' podcast with retired NYPD Homicide Sgt. Bill Cannon, turning cop war stories into appointment listening.
2021'Police Off the Cuff' ranked 4th on 'The Top 15 Police Podcasts You Must Follow in 2021', cementing the show as a leading voice in true-crime and law-enforcement storytelling.
2022Headlined clubs, casinos, and resorts across the Tri-State area and beyond, continuing the nightly NYC circuit grind that built his reputation over more than 25 years in show business.
2023Taped 'Gotham Comedy Live' on AXS TV, adding a national television stand-up credit to a career that spans Showtime's 'White Boyz in da Hood', Comedy Central's 'Laffopolooza', and Si-TV's 'Latino Laughter'.
