BIOGRAPHy

In 1973, Miller’s The Joker received significant radio airplay, which helped the title track reach number one on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles chart. The single also hit number one on the U.K. Singles chart in September 1990 after it was used for a television commercial. Miller followed up with Fly Like an Eagle in 1976 and Book of Dreams in 1977. On the heels of this massive success, Miller took a long hiatus from recording and touring, emerging in 1981 with Circle of Love. In 1982, he returned to the pop formula with another hit album, Abracadabra. Miller released Bingo! in 2010. The album of blues covers was his first in 17 years. In 2011, Miller released Let Your Hair Down. Miller continues to tour and impress audiences.

Career Path

2009Long-time band member Norton Buffalo died from lung cancer on October 30, 2009.
2010Bingo!, an album of blues and R&B covers, was released on June 15, 2010.
2011Let Your Hair Down, a companion release to Bingo!, was released 10 months later, on April 18, 2011.
2013Original bassist Lonnie Turner died from lung cancer on April 28, 2013.
2014In 2014, Steve Miller Band toured with fellow San Francisco rock band Journey.
2016In 2016, Steve Miller was inducted as a solo artist into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
2022This is one of two Steve Miller Band albums not to be reissued on CD until 2022, the other being Recall the Beginning...A Journey from Eden from 1972.
2024Continued extensive live touring and regional performances across major US venues.
2025Scheduled to perform at prominent entertainment festivals and theater shows.
2026Expected to launch a nationwide historic tour highlighting legacy catalog.
