Tom Cotter

With a burst of energy, Tom Cotter took the comedy scene by storm in 2012 being the first comedian to make the finals on NBC’s America’s Got Talent. He was the runner up and breakout star that year and the highest finishing human (He lost to Olate Dogs). Tom’s other TV credits include The Tonight Show his own half hour special “Comedy Central Presents… Tom Cotter” and The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson. Tom regularly performs in America’s most famous comedy clubs including The Comedy Cellar, The Improv and Gotham Comedy Club. Tom has also been featured at the Montreal “Just For Laughs” Festival, The HBO Comedy Arts Festival and headlining in Las Vegas with “America’s Got Talent Live” at The Palazzo Hotel and Casino. Tom’s appeal is truly international as he was summoned to London to tour and perform on British Television and won The Seattle International Stand-Up Comedy Competition. In January 2019, Tom was again invited back to the AGT stage – this time to perform against the best of the best “Got Talent” performers from other years and around the world in “America’s Got Talent: The Champions.” In one of the most talked about sets of the entire competition, Tom received a STANDING OVATION from the adoring crowd. Career Path

2000Won the Seattle International Stand-Up Comedy Competition, adding a major festival title to his growing club circuit reputation.
2005Taped his own half-hour special "Comedy Central Presents... Tom Cotter," placing him in the cable showcase that launched a generation of stand-up careers.
2007Appeared on "The Tonight Show", one of several late-night credits including "The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" that built his national television profile before AGT.
2012Became the first stand-up comedian to reach the finals of NBC's "America's Got Talent," finishing runner-up to Olate Dogs as the highest-placing human act of the season and headlining the "AGT Live" show at The Palazzo Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.
2015Featured at the Montreal Just For Laughs Festival and the HBO Comedy Arts Festival, performing in two of the industry's most competitive showcase environments.
2019Returned to the "America's Got Talent: The Champions" stage against top acts from around the world, earning a standing ovation for what the production called one of the most talked-about sets of the entire competition.
2022Resumed headlining residencies at The Comedy Cellar, The Improv, and Gotham Comedy Club, the New York venues that serve as industry benchmarks for working comics.
2024Released the stand-up special "Tom Cotter: Rapid Fire" via Comedy Dynamics, streaming on Prime Video and Tubi, his first nationally distributed special since "Comedy Central Presents."
2025Toured regional theaters and comedy clubs through the fall, with dates at venues including Funny Bone Comedy Club in Missouri and the Aventura Arts & Cultural Center in Florida.
